WAIROA’S NEEDS.
(Per Press Association.) Watroe, yesterday. A largo and representative meeting of members of local bodies met Mr Dillon, M.H.R. for Hawke’s Bay, and Mr Fraser, M,H.R. for Napier, and discussed the wants of the district. Petite bridge, a bridge over the Esk-Tongoia wash out,the bridging of creeks, metalling the worst portions of the Wairoa-Napier road, Frasertown bridge, a bridge at Stewart’s crossing, the Government acquiring large estates for cios9 settlement, the leasing and ratiDg of native lands, were brought up and urged as immediate requirements. Messrs Dillon and Fraser agreed that the most important works were the bridging on and metalling of the Napier- Wairoa road. The acquiring of native lands and large estates for close settlement rested &ith the people of the district.
