HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Trustees of the Gisborne Hospital was hold yesterday afternoon, when there were present— Messrs J. A. Harding (in the obair), E. P. ■Joyce, A. F. Matthews, R. Johnston, and P. T. Kenway. Mr Nolan was unanimously re-eleotod chairman for the ensuing year. Mr Joyce, for the Visiting Committee, repo.ted that matters wire progressing satisfactorily at the Hospital. Dr DeLisle wrote stating that he was writing to the head office for plans of infeotious hospitals required by the Trustees, and would forward same on receipt.

The Secretary stated that Dr DeLisle bad approved of a site for the isolation ward on the Waikanae at the extreme end of the borough. Mr Ma'thews said it seemed a great mistake to have an isolation ward anywhere near the abattoirs. He thought

that the Kaiti beach at the far end would provide a good site. They had the abattoirs, a cemetery, and refuse depots on the WaikaDae, and they now proposed to put the iso'ation ward in the same area, It seemed os if they were bent on making a regular Golgotha of the place. Mr Joyce said it would be difficult to get a better site than the Waikanae. The ward would be on the easterly side of the abattoirs. - The Chairman said there would be objections wherever a eite was proposed, They had to coasider the question of expense, and on the Waikauao the borough would not need to purchase the site. He moved that plans of the pro* posed building and site selected be laid on the lable at next meeting. The area of land to bo givon would bo about two aore?. His motion would give other members not present an opportunity to discuss the matter. The motion was cirried, Messrs Kenway and Matthews were appointed a Visiting Committee for the month.
