(Per. Press ’Association.)? Dunedin, last night. MrH. G. WeddowaoD, S.M., was engaged to-day hearing oharges of alleged sly grog selling, arising out of the recent police raid. The charge against Charles Bulmer, fishmonger, was dismissed, the evidence of witness for the Crown, an in* former, not being corroborated. In the case against Isalla Glen, of the Hotel Metropole, St. Clair, an adjournment was granted for the presence of a witness to bB ca'led for the defence. Thomas Charles Evans, 15 years, was charged with selling liquor at St. Clair. It appeared he had been requested to serve by a lady who handed him beer, corksorew and glasses. The case was brought to show that no pe-son could serve liquor without a license. Defendant was fined 20?, and 7s ooßts. At the Police Court to-day acetal persons were ohargod with on Wingatui raceoourse and with leave when ordered. Judgment was re\ served in two oases, and another case was adjourned for the production of a material witness.
