TROUBLES IN RUSSIA.
By, telegraph, Press Ass’n, Copyright St. Petersburg, Jan. 9. The Vioeroy of the Caucasus has taken refuge in a fortified monastery at Tiflis. Mutinous troops along the Siboriau railway are olectiog their own officers The insurgent reservists are masters of the chief towns.
The field army is mobilising at Rostoff to reconnoitre the Caucasus. Extraordinary precautions are being taken at Tsarskoe Selo. The authorities have warned the Czar that his life will bo attempted whenever ho loaves the palace. Received 11.38 p.m., Jan. 10. St. Petersburg, Jan. 10, The Governor of the Caucasus telegraphed that the revolutionaries seized the | railway and have organised a general strike. Martial law has been proclaimed. Ta tars and Armenians are fighting at Baku, Eriva.i and Dogbes'an. Revolutionaries are all powerful at Courland. They annexed tho Crown lends and forests, instituted Draconian punishment of offenders against properly. They celebralo marriage under the Red flag. Socialists preach in church pulpits.
