CHARGED WITH FALSE PRETENCES.

“ Lord ” Massey, of bulldog fame, look ing as spruco as over, made hie bow before the Gisborne Police Court yesterday on a couple of chargee. Sears by means of a valueless cheque and the state ment that his motor car and cheque-book had gone to Wanganui. He was remanded for eight days, to appear at Feilding ; a further remand to Woodville was granted on a charge of obtaining from Emily Gray, £1 10s, at Woodville, on D.cember 28, under false protonces. Bail was a’lowed in both cases.

Dempster declined to have anything to do with keeping them out of tho way. Rochester subsequently declared his offer off, because Dempster insistol on having a witaoss present at any fuither in erviews. Dempster did not thon know there was any question of Reimar’s will being a forgery.
