NARROW ESCAPE FROM SUFFOCATION.

When submerged an escape of ohlorine gaß began to overpower some’of tbe orew, numbering 15. The oommander ordered an immediate rise to the surface. Tbe vessel came up stern first,lying 85 degrees out. The horizontal oonning tower was raised and the crew .were saved. Another minute would have involved suffocation.
