A DRAW OF £760.

.(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. A ohequo for £750 was presented at the Bank of New South Wales in Suva (Fiji) on the Bth inst., and was being paid over in gold to Mr E. Curtin, a clerk employed by Messrs Brown and Joske. The bank wondering why so muoh gold was being required in one demand, a message was sent to the firm interested bb to its bona fides. Mr Arthur Joske prooeeded to the bank to 6nd their late clerk counting the money. On being asked what it all meant (says the Fiji Times) Oartin admitted that he could not resist the temptation. . He has been arrested by the police. Onrtin arrived there from Auckland a month ago, and was in the employ of Messrs Brown and Joske until Ootober 6th. He gave his age as 19 years, though he looked a few years older. f
