' The Goal Mines Acts Compilation Bill and Evidence Bill wero put through final stages, and the Houbc rose at 1.40, tv: AFTERNOON SITTING, (Per Press Association.) ; k.;:, * Wellington, last night. The Council met at 2.80. The Conviots Forfeiture Bill, Destitute Persons Bill, Shops and Oifioes Bill, and Eleotoral Bill were put through their final stages. The House met at 2.80. The greater part of the afternoon was oooupied in formal business. The Medical Praetitionors Registration Bill was put through its final stagoß.

The Hult Railway and Road Improvement Bill, Laud Tax and Income Tax Bill passed the final stages. Mr Carroll moved the seoond reading of tbe Maori Land Settlement Bilk Tbe debate is proceeding.
