The Budget Statement in the Assembly showed that exclusive of r ® ilwa y ß '^. 0 revenue was £3,900,637, and the expenditure £3,415,182, leaving a surplus of £485,365. The railway revenue was £3,621,051 and tbe expenditure £1,933,708. After paying interest on loans invested the railways leave a surplus of £41,629. Next year, exclusive of railways, a surplus of £68,424 is expected, while on tbe railways a deficit ofJ£S6,OQO is antioiP£ MrDeakin moved in the House that £25,000 be granted towards the Qaeen Viotoria memorial. -
