MR H. H. WALL AT TE ARAI.

There was a crowded attendance at the 1 meeting hpld by Mr H. H. Wall as Te Arai last evening. Mr Daulton presided, and the spoaker was aooorded a most attentive heacing. The candidate severely criticised the administration of the present Government, and dwelt at length on their native lands polioy. He contended that the Bill at present before ths Houee would not do the work that was expected of it, and that it really oDly meant delay, What the colony wanted was a practical polioy in regard to this question, but it was useless to expect it from the present Administration. The Crown lands policy of the Government was also trenchantly commented upon. The candidate advocated a scheme of special settlements for small farmers and working men, instancing what had been done in the Forty mile Bush, Hawke’s Bay, hts remarks on this subject meeting with general approbation. A number of questions were aßked, and were satisfactorily replied to. A hearty vote of thanks was unanimoußly accorded the candidate. Since the commencement of the campaign Mr Wall has been steadily gaining ground, and his supporters are working mo3t assiduously on his behalf. Mr Wall speaks at Patutahi to-night, and the meeting should bs of an interesttog nature.
