[(Per Press Association.;) Ohriatohurob, last night.

An old man named Edward Waterman, until reeently an inmate of the Ashburton Home, attempted to commit auioide to-day by cutting his throat with a razor. His injuries, however, were very slight, and he wa3 taken into oußtody by the police.
