GRICKET.
THE UNION CLUB. The annual meeting of the club was held last night at the Coronation Hotel. There was a large attsndanae, Mr J. Lang presiding. Tho eloction of officers resulted :—President, Mr E. Murphy; vice-presidents, Judge Jones, Captain Ferris, Messrs F. J. Francis, E. P. Joyoe, J. T. Evans, W. Miller, A. W. Rees, Wellsted, W. Pettie, J. W. Nolan, Joseph Martin, G. B. Oman, D. J. Barry. T. Adair, J. A. Harding, W. Gaudio, G. F. Lewis, F. Hall, J. Maynard, W. Cox, R. Robertson, G. J. Black, J. Johnston, R. Johnston; oaptain, Mr J. Lang; vice-president, Mr G. Priestley; seoretary and treasurer, Mr G. Tattersall; selection committee, Messrs Lang, Tattersall, P. Sheridan, and Ferris; delegates, to Association, .Messrs Lang and Sheridan. It was resolved that the Union Crioket Club open their season in the Victoria Domain on Thursday, Ootober 56b, when the match Captain v. Vioe-oaptain will be played. Afternoon tea will be provided for all visitors. After the meeting tbe members were kindly entertained at supper by Mr Francis. The playing strength of the club was stated to be 85 members to start tho season with.
