The New Zealand golf championship, first round, resulted: Gordon (Napier) beat Weston (Ngomohi),; Burns (Auckland) beat Colonel Gorton (Manawatu); Bid* well (Manawatu) beat Jameson (Christohuroh); A. Duncan (Wellington) beat J. Burt (Dunedin); Wood (Napier) beat Strang (Manawatu) ; Tareha (Napier)beat Coatc3 (Auckland); Heather (Auckland) beat McEwan (Wellington); Borthwiok (Christchurch) beat Monro (Manawatu); Fisher (DunediD, the present champion) beat Turner (Auckland); Kawhi (Napier) beat Pearce (Wellington); K. Duncan (Wellington) beat Oolbeok (Auckland). In the last matoh Duncan holed with a very long put of 30 yards and won the mateh 1 up to the 18th hole. The second round resulted: Gould v. Wilson (scratohed) a bye. Burns beat Gilließ 3 and 2, A. Duncan beat Bidwell 1 up at the 18th hole, Harold beat Wood 6 and 5, Tareha beat Kowhi 5 and 4, K, Duncan beat Heather 1 up, Fisher bent Borthwiok 5 and 2, Gordon beat Gillfill&a 6 and 5.
