DAIRY INDUSTRY.

SOUND ADVICE. ’(Pect Picas Association. 1 )’ Wellington, last night. The Chief Dairy Commissioner, Mr Kinsella, is of opinion that the farmers of New Zealand are losing a million yearly through not weeding out their unprofitable stock. Mr Kinsella has found great reluotarice on the part of the dairy farmers in New Zealand to part with their poor, cows. They do not, he says, realise that if they weed out poor milkers and replaoa them with better animals they will increase their profits to a wonderful extent. It oosts as much to keep a poor cow sb a good'one, and the difference in profit Is considerable. The'Commissioner says thrt we ace going to have a wonderfully prosperous dairy season, but he is rather afraid that the high prices will have the effeot of making farmers more indifferent than ever to the neoessity of improving the quality of their herds.
