FIRE AT PARNELL.

ORPHAN’S HOME BADLY DAMAGED. .(Per Press Association.) Auckland, Jaat night. A destructive fire occurred at the Parnell Orphans' Home at 8 this morning. The boys’ and girls’ dormitories, matron’s quarters, dispensary, workroom, etc., were completely destroyed. The fire originated in the workroom, but no reason oan be assigned, as there was no fire or light thoro since Thursday, and the room was perfectly safe at 7,80 a.m. The insurance on the buildings and oontents was £1675 in the New Zealand □ffioe.

Tbo nurseries, kitoheu, and sohcol, in other buildings, had a narrow escape.
