STRIKING A LUNATIC.

(Per Press Association.). Christohurob, last night. At a special sitting of the Magistrate's Court this afternoon William Thomson, warder of the Sunnysido Asylum, was charged with etriking a male lunatic on September 6ihr. Evidence was given that accused struck the lunatic in the face, the injuries consisting of a cut lip, bruised eye, and abrasions on the faoe, neok and hands. The warder, Who was under the influence of liquor at the time, was dismissed next day. Acoused was committed for trail, bail in LIOO, and two sureties of LSO eaob.
