CO-OPERATIVE BUILDING SOCIETY.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Gisborne 00-operative Building Soeiety will be held this evening, when the following report will be presented:— “ Your direotors have.Emieh pleasure in submitting their annual report and balance sheet in tbe two issues for tbe year ended 17th July, 1905. Loans amounting io\ £6515 have been granted for tbe year, and \ the total advanoed to dote in both issues ' amounts to £28,448, repayments on which are being well kept. Very carefnl attention has been paid to the securities taken) and we are pleased to say that the money at present invested is in nearly every case for new buildings. There are still about 300 shares available in No. 2 issue. Subscriptions : Arrears are higher than usual, but a great many have since come in.
11 The profit and loss acoount shows a total of £926 9s 6d for the year in both issues. This, added to the previous bal-, ance, give a total of £4117 15s 4d, or equal to £3 15s 2d per share in No 1 issue and 13s 6d in No. 2. . ,
"The retiring direotors are Messrs T, Adair, F. Harris and L. T. Syme, who are eligible and offer themselves for reelection. The retiring auditors are Messrs John Coleman and L. Rod ward, who aro also eligible, and offer themselves for reelection." Tbe statement of receipts and expenditure for the year showed that subscriptions amount of £2456 14s bad been received in the Np. 1 issue and £1653 9s 8d in the No. 2. Repayment of loans and premiums in the No. 1 issue amounted to £2434 5s 4d and tho No. 8 £196 6s 4d, The general expenditure in the No. 1 issas amounted to £136 7s 10d, and in No. 2 £lO3 12s 2d.
