THE ALLEGED CULPRITS. I

'(Per Press Association.) Ohristohcreh, last night. Yesterday morning Messrs Willis, Laroombe, West, and Lundon, tbe four Christohuroh officials who have figured prominently in the voucher case, were formally suspended by tbe Chief Postmaster until farther notice.

A letter from the Seoretary of the Poet and Telegraph Department was 1 handed to Willis, oharging him with having committed oertain breaches of duty by search* iog records and giving F. M. B. Fisher, M.H.R., the number and amount of voucher 15819; informing Fisher that a voucher for an amount exceeding 1170 had passed through the Chrietehurch postoffioe payable to R. J. 8. Seddon for reorganising the defence stores ; delivering to Fisher an affidavit that he (Wiiifs) saw such a vouober; giving to T. E. Taylor, M.H.R., a dupiioate of the original of Baoh affidavit; and sending, with the other three, the following telegram to Mr Tay* lor: "We are confident that unrestricted public enquiry will establish charge. Hope you will pass your motion." Willis is required to plead to the oharges, and is given till September 13tb to make anv written defence. West reoeived a similar letter, with the omLsion of the first oharge. Larcombe reoeived a similar letter, with an additional charge that be informed another person that a voucher passed through the Ohristehurch post-office.

Lundon is oharged only with sending the telegram.
