At Awanui the work of erecting the publio school is well forward, and a good deal of building is going on out back. A fire by whioh Messrs Redstone and Sons sustained muoh loss is reported from Hikuwai. "
The sitting of the Native Land Court boing held by Judge Jones has concluded at Tuparoa. There were about 600 oases on the list; over half of these were dealt with, and then the Court, as arranged, adjourned to Awanui, where good progress is being made with the work. It is probable that the Court will sit also at Waipiro after the business at Awanui has been disposed of.
