Greymonth, last night. This evening at alargily attended meeting of tho local civil servants the following resolutions were unanimously carried : “ That this mooting approves of a Civil Service Superannuation Bill, and expresses i.ts pleasure that a ecbeme has been introduced, aad urges thet a Bill be carried through this session.'” A strong committee was formod to go into tha draft scheme when received from Wellington, and report at b future meeting. Mr Conboy addressed a political meeting to-night to elaborate his platform, which is similar to that of the progressives, Mr Conboy has a grievance against the present Government, and occupied nearly the whole eveniog in showing their bad administration. The meeting was lively, and the candidate was not taken se-iously. Invercargill, laßt night. The Southland champion ploughing match was got ofl in glorious weather today. The championship was awarded to John Tnrnbnll, of Tbornbury. The winner in the senior double furrow class was Alex. Brown, of MarveD, South Canterbury.
