At the Supremo Court Mads Brodersen, a tottering, half-blind old man, suffering from a severe attack of bronchitis, who had to be almost lifted into the dock by the polico constable, was oharged with having committed incest with his grand daughter, Mary Elizabeth Brodersen, 15£ years of age, at Featherston on Ist April, 1904. He pleaded not guilty. The Crown Prosecutor said accused was the grandfather of Mary Elizabeth Brodersen, who was the daughter of hia son, Andrew Brodersen, and of Elizabeth Brodersen. In the beginning of 1902 Andrew Brodersen and his wife went away to Samoa, and left their daughter in the oare of her grandfather, and she remained in his obargo until 1905, and lived with him at Featherston. On January 18th | laet the girl was delivered of a ohild, and I it was oharged against acoussd that he I was the father of the child. I
