At Mr Tavornor’a instunco the AgentsGonoral wrote to Mr Auston Chamberlain, thanking him for calling attention to frauds in connection with British manufactured wine, which is a serious menace to tho Australian wino industry. Mr Chamberlain replied that ho has introduced a clause dealing with tho quostion into the Revenue Bill now beforo Parliament.

Mr McGowan uiovod . his oonsuro motion. Ho accused the Premier of covering up the land inquiry, not to shield himself, but to shield others. He was head of the Government that appointed tbo Commission. and legal adviser to tho principal offender. The Government had boon guilty from start to finish of laxity and indiffsronoo in regard to tho Commission. There never was in the history of Australasia such a blow at the purity of public life. Tho had members of Parliament accepting fees, and as land agents securing emceseions for their clients, and documents were missing and witneaess non est.
