Field Marshal Oyama reports that with the purpose of driving back the onemy the Japanese on the 22ad attacked a forc9 holding the highlands northwest of Nanshaoconigtse and eastwards of Yingcbuug. | The enemy soon wavered and a portion began to retreat. The remainder obstinately clung to the position. The Japanese vigorously assaulted and subsequently made a flank movement. The retreating enemy, under fire, suffered heavily. The I iofautry availed themselves of the red cross flag, but the pursuit was continued.driving them north in great disorder. The enemy numbered 3000 with several guns. They I left 50 dead. The Russian total losses I were 200, and the Japanese were 2 killed and 17 wounded.
