May it bring to Russia also an end to internal disturbances, and dissipate your doubts. It is my sovereign, unalterable will to admit elected representatives to works of S'.ate. 1 duly devote myself to this work. You may aanounco it to the country.' I am firmly convinced Bussia will emerge strengthened by the trials she is undergoing, aDd that soon there will be established, as formerly, a union between the Czar and all Bussia, a communion between myself and the men of Bussia. The soul of this union and communion must serve as a basis for tho order of things, and stand for the original principles of Bussia. I father your sincoro desire to help my task.” . The Czar shook hands with the deputation, and requested President Troubetzkoi to present a memorial on the University question
