OPPOSITION TO BIBLE IN SCHOOLS PARTY.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night,

There was on attendance of about 100 at ,a meeting this evening to form an Education Defence League. Mr A- Bathgate presided, and the meeting was very enthusiastic. It was resolved to form a League for the purpose of defending aad maintaining the present system of free, secular, and compulsory education id the priminary schools of the colony, and a constitution was adopted. The speakers woro tho Chairman and Messrs J. T. Hinton, C. Darling, Sim, Hood, and Rabbi Ghodowski, Blr A. Bathgate was elected President, and Messrs J. M. Gallawcy and D. Theomen, Vice-Presidents.
