The Premier has received the following wires :—“ The Bight Hon. the Premier, Wellington : The captain of the French ship Anjou and those with him on the Auckland Islands send their sincere thanks to the Government of New Zealand for having saved them, and for the splendid hospitality received,—(Signed) LA. TALLEC, captain.” “ The Premier, Wellington : Deeply grateful for the kind congratulations on rescue of the crew of the French barque Anjou, due undoubtedly to the humane foresight and assistance of your Government. Have wired to the Marine Department yesterday warmest thanks for help rendered by the Hinemoa.— BOEUFOE, Consul for France, Auckland.”
