ALLEGED PERJURY.

FeildiDg, last night. Before Justices to-day W. J. Short, of Apiti, was charged with perjury in the evidence in the recent action brought against him by one Baer for the reoovery of £l5O. The police took aotion under instruetions from Stipendiary Magistrate Thomson before whom the case was heard. Accused was committed for trial at Palmerston. Bail in one security of £IOO, and accused’s own recognisance of £IOO was granted.
