BARQUE IN DISTRESS.
MAKES FOR PORT.
'(Per Presa Association.) Auckland, last night. The barque Mary L. Cushing, which arrived in distress last night, encountered a succession of gales, which caused the to leak badly. She was making eight inches of water per hour. At the crew’s request the captain made for Auokland as the nearest port.
