Sir Wilfrid Laurier, in the Dominion House, said that American's patrolling the North had given American names to some parts of the territory under British jurisdiction. “We planted the flag,” he said, ■‘ at several points of Baffinsland and the vicinity of Greenland and cannot allow the Americans to occupy it. We Intend to assert our jurisdiction.”
