Capetown, May 11. In the Cape Assembly Mr Crewo announced that the Government had agreed to repeal the proclamations restricting the pnrehase of arms and ammunition.

Dr Jameson opposed the Afrikander Bond resolutiou to re-impose the meat duties. He was willing to appoint a commission to enquire as to the sufficiency of stock.

An amendment for referring the subject, together with the question of food monopolies, to a select committee was adopted by 48 votes to 46, three Progressives voting with the minority.
