QUEEN VICTORIA STATUE.

[ The Btatuto of Queen Victoria, executed by Mr Drury, R.A , London, at a cost of 4)2000, subscribed by citizens of Wellington and erected in the Post Office Square, was unveiled on Saturday by His Excellency, tho Governor, in the presence of a large number of people. There was a large muster of volunteers and bluejackets from the warships. His Excellenoy said the City now had a noble portrait of Her Majesty, in whose reign the colony grew, who was a noble example to all, and whose every aot was good. j
