An eleven of the Waipiro Cricket Club left on froc'd Friday for Te (Aiaroa to play a return match with the local eleven. On arrival they found an excellent wicket prepared. The match was played on Saturday, [ and was very pleasantly contested, ) the only drawback being a very high and cold wind. The local captain (EL H, Henderson) won the toss and put the visitors in. Thein first innings resulted in a total' of 54 runs, the principal scorers being A. M, Beale 21 and K. S. Williams 12., The bowling kc>n,org were carried oft I by, Grayson. The local team then had a turn and scored 49,- O, McLachlaii 15 and R. Barclay, 11 being the do.uble figure scorers. - Lud-torc-ok and Beale divided: thje howl- I ing., Walpiro in their second innings nut up the fair score of 106, Luefbrook 37. Beale 34 (not out), I and Nurse 10> being the only double I figure scorers.: Grayson again was the most successful bowler. Dn the I local men going In a second time, I with 112 to get to Win,, fared very bao'ly, being all out for 37. Of these Henderson (12) anjd Hamilton (9) scored 21, Liwlbrdok and Beale again divided the howling, Waipiro I won by. 74 runs. The visitors were most hospitably entertained by Mr, Henderson and his team, and were I mado very comfortable by Host I McLachlan, " The visitors returned I on Sunday, after having spent a very, •pleasant time indeed, a .time that one j and all look forward to repeating next year.
