In re Clifford v. the Minister of Lands, a claim for £850,000 in respect to the compulsory acquisition of Elaxbourne estate, the case for claimant has concluded. A largo number of witnesses from various parts of the colony gave evidence similar to that adduced before the previous Court. The case/for the Crown was opened by Mr Sim to-day, and eight witnesses bad boon called on this side. There are about six more witnesses, and it is expected the heating will finish on Wednesday or Thursday.
