.(Pec Press Association. 1 ) Christchurch, last night. Mr F. Pratt has been elected unopposed Mayor of Sumner. Mr Justice Donniston has bean granted three months’ leave of absence owing to ill-health, aDd with his associate, Mr A. L. Denniston, leaves on the 26th instant for America via the South Sea Islands. Dunedin, last night.

A ballot for an allotment in Greenfield estate not previously taken up was held to-day, when all but three sections were taken, and of those two have since been applied for, so that at most only one section will remain undisposed of to-day. Two Waimate men, one St. Andrew’s, ono Bangiora, and one Geraldine man secured sections. Other successful applicants were from North-East Valley, Georgetown (North Otago), Hawea Flat, and Toiro.
