.(Fen Presa Association.) Wellington, lost night. The contract for erecting -the people’s stand and stewards’ stand on the Wellington Raoing Club’s new course atTrentham was entered into yesterday morning. The oontract is about £BOOO.
Wm. McLean, who represented Wellington in Parliament in 1892, announced his intention of contesting Wellington East seat next election.
Tho Hon. G. F. Richardson left for Sydney this afternoon to attend the surveyors’ conference at Melbourne.
Appreciation of the interest taken by Lord Plunket in the game of Rugby football is expressed in the annual report of the New Zealand Rugby Union, particularly in respect to thekindness and hospitality extended by the Governor on the occasion of the visit of the British team to New Zealand last year.
