It has been deoidad to hold the forthcoming exhibition in the North Park, on a site just over Armagh street bridge, between the bridge and Victoria Bake. The Australian cricketers arrived here to-day, and were welcomed on behalf of the citizens by the Mayor and Hon E. C. J. Stevens, and by Mr Moaros on behalf of the orioketors. There was a largo attendance on the oeoasion. . The annual conference of the South Island Dairy Association opened at Lyttelton to-day, when the customary visit to the cool stores was made and instructions in grading of dairy produce given. There was a largo attendance of representatives of butter and dairy factories of Canterbury and Otago. Mr J. R. Scott, the secretary, welcomed Mr Kinsella, Chief Dairy Commissioner.
An exhibit of dressed poultry, prepared by the Agricultural Department for the Industries and Commerce Department for exhibition at tbo Crystal Palace exhibition, was on view at tbe cool stores, Lyttelton, to-day. It consists of three eases of docks, four of chickens, and two of geese, and all are described as farmers’ produce, having been purchased at auction in Christohurch. The poultry was packed in some cases to show the class of goods, and in others to inchoate the economical methods of paok* ing. .i
