(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. The Supremo Codrt was occupied yesterday and to-day with the case of John Donaldson v. the New Zealand Shipping Company, a claim for XSOO damages for injuries received by plaintiff through being struck by a bale of wool while engaged in the hold of the steamer Waimate on June 11th. Plaintiff received injuries to his right leg about tbe knee and hip joints, and the medical evidence showed that the knee would probably never be really strong again, and plaintiff’s value as a wharf laborer would be impaired.
