One of the most successful land sales held in Gisborne for a considerable time took place on' Saturday, when Messrs Williams and Kettle submitted a number of'Gisborne and Te Karaka township sections. Bidding was spirited throughout, and most of the lots offered were sold at very satisfactory prioes. Mr A: F. Ken-

nedy supervised tho sate, whilst Mr G. R, Wyllie made a most successful auctioneer. Following are the details of the sale : READ’S TOWNSHIP, GISBORNE.
