(Per Press Association:) Chriatehurch, last night. Tho annual meeting of the Christchurch Meat Company jwas hold this afternoon, Mr Gilbert Anderson, managing director, presiding. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, which have been published, congratulated the shareholders on the year's operations, and the further improvement of the company’s position. The directors had the satisfaction of knowing that at no time in the history of the trade had they been able to get farmers such high and satisfactory prioes for their stock, whether sent on their individual account to be realised or whether they preferred to end their rlek at the farm or in the works. The concentration of the business, and the regulations of sh'pmeDts resulted in steady prices. The directors had devoted special efforts to the establishment of tho West of Hogland trade. He referred with satisfaction to the appointment of Mr Henderson to a position in London, and said he confidently expects that a further expansion of the company’s business would result. What was required for the further improvement of the trade was the concentration of the business in fewer hands, and the regulation of shipments if steady and satisfactory prices were to be realised. The report and balance sheet were adopted. Measrs Peacock and A. Kaye were reelected directors.
