COMMERCIAL.
PUHATIKOTIKO SALE. Messrs Common, Shelton and Go. and Dalgety and Co., conjointly, hold their annual sheep sale at Mr W. Hutchinson's yards yesterday, commencing at 1 o’clock. There was a good attendance of buyers, and tho large entry was disposed of at satisfactory prices. Tho joint firms report :—“ We yarded 7,500 sheep. As frequently happens with big entries, bidders were shy at tho commencement, but warmed up as tho sale proceeded. Six thousand sheep in all were sold under the hammer at prices rather easier than that realised at last weok’s sale at Matawhero. Corresponding prices were offered for the pens passed in, sellers’ prices being slightly ahead of buyers. All things considered the salß was a very satisfactory one. The following are the number of sales :—SOO 5-year-oid owes, 16s 6d ; 800 ditto, 14s 7d; 540 4, 6 and fresh full mouthed ewes, 14s 7d; 705 ditto. 14s 6d ; 660 ditto, 14s; 137 ditto, 14s 4d; 142 5-year old ewes, 13s 5d ; 248 2-tooth ewes, 14s 3d ; 400 lambs, newly shorn, medium quality, 8s ; 300 lambs, 8s 5d ; 260 cull iambs from 6s Id to 6s 2d: 190 fat wethers, 14s 7d ; 54 2-tooth wethers, 15s ; 23 Romany rams, £3 3s, and a number of smaller lots at corresponding prices. 11 Our next sale will be he held at Matawhero on Wednesday, 22nd inst. Clients please note the date.”
NAPIER WOOL SALES. (Per Press Association.) Napier, last night. The last of this season’s wool sales took place this afternoon. There was a large attendance of buyers. In sympathy with the further decline in London, prices as compared with the January sale were $d to Id less for coarse crossbreds, £d less for medium crossbreds, and less for fine crossbreds. Lambs’ wool was in poor demand, and shewed a decline of Id. Sheep skins were d less than January rates. Prices for coarse crossbreds were 8d to 84d, medium crossbreds BJd to 9d, fine crossbreds, 9d to 9£d, fair lambs Bd, faulty 6£d to 7d. Sheepskins: Full-woolied, medium, and coarse crossbred did to 7ld, hoggets 6i-d. ~
