TREATMENT OF ABORIGINES,
CHARGES AGAINST POLICE,
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Deceived 9.22 p.m., Feb'. 13. \ Perth, Feb. 13, An extract from Dr Roth’s report statßS that an aboriginal child, 14 years old, undergoing two years’ hard labor for alleged cattle killing, on being examined, said he was oaught by a policeman, who asked him if he killed the cattle. He Baid no, and the policeman and another man then talked together and said they would shoot him. One of them put a cartridge iu e» rifle and pointed it at witness. Thia frightened him so that he at once said, “ I did kill the bullock.” He was taken with some other blackfellows, who were also frightened. All said they killed the bullooks becanße they were frightened. The policeman put handouffs on their legs and hands, two of them being chained together by the legs. They then caught some more blackfellows and some gins, and took them away. Afrerwards the prisoners were taken to the court house, but they said nothing because they had beeni told not to talk: The. magistrate did not ask them whether they killed the bullocks.
