At the second wool sales 5113 bales were offered. Competition was dull, and over a third of the offering was passed in. Looal buyers assisted the sale considerably. Prices declined, superior half-breds fine crossbreds sd, medium crossbreds Id, coarse and inferior to 2£d. Several clips of superior crossbred hogget and ewes realised 10|d, halfbred slightly less than at the former sale. Buyers anticipate a farther decline at the London March sales.
•Later. —There were plenty of buyers and a largo attendance of those interested at the wool saleß to ; day, at which 5113 bales were offered. One-third was passed at auotion, but there were numerous private deals, vendors realising that they oould not got more by holding. There was a drop of Id to 2d all round. The merino offered was not of a high olass, and the prices were lower by £d. Half-bred was l£d down, the top price being lOd. Super crossbred brought up to lOfd, as against Is at the January Bale ; strong ditto. lOd, against la O^d; good to medium merino brought lOd to 9j-d, inferior 9d to 8d ; half-bred super lOd to 9£d, good 9Jd to BJd, inferior BJd to 8d ; fine crossbred IQJd to 10d, medium 9J& to 9d, inferior BJd to 8d ; strong ditto’ super lUd to 9d, medium BJd to Bd, inferior 7£d to 6d, The bulk went to America and Franoe. But for the looal buyers prices would have been still lower,
