NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. The proposal of tbe Gisborno Bowling Club to play tbe Newtown Club for tbe championship of the colony was discussed at a smoke concert at Wellington given to tho southern champions. Prince, the skip, said ho would have to consult his team, but there was a strong feeling among bowlers that tho match should be played at Wellington. This proposition is not likely to be entertained by the Gisborne team, as they consider the game should be played on a neutral green. It was on this account that it was suggested to hold tbe match at Napier.
