A poll was takcu to-day in tho borough on tho question of raising a loan of £11,500 for tho purpose of bringing in a vvatei supply. The proposal was carried by 42, the voting beiDg—for 155, against 43. A pull on tho saino question was taken in October last, when tho poll was carried b> 50 votes, but on that occasion 37 tuori ratepayers voted. The roasou the second poll was taken was that tho money could not bo obtained at 3.V. the percentage offored. Tho ratepayers have now ugreed to give 4 per cent, und expect to get the money at this rate of interest.
