THE AUSTRAL WHEEL RACE,
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Received 8.25 p.m., Deo. 12. Melbourne, Dec. 12. The following is the result of the Austral Wkocl race : Scheps, 160, yds 1 Hawker, 300yds 2 Meyer, 230yds 3 Scheps shot out at the last lap and won by 15 yards, Porbes, the New Zealander, who injured his leg during tho week, gave up in the second lap. The time was 4,27. Scheps also won tho Victorian mile from Walker in 2.14 1-5.
