ADDINGTON MARKET.

(Per Press Associajfir l.) Christchurch, last night. There was a good yarding of stock and a largo attendance of buyers at Addington to-day.

Fat cattle : 270 were yarded, including a large proportion of prime quality steers. The over-supply weakened the market, and prices fell from 2s to 2s 6d per lOOlbs. Forty five North Island bullocks sold at from £9 17s Gd to £ll 17s 6d, other steers £7 15s to £l2 10s, heifers £6 to £lO 10s, cows £5 17s 6d to £9 ss, beef ruled at 27s to 29s per 1001 b. Fat sheep : The entry was not large, and the quality was somewhat mixed. Export buyers operated very sparingly, but prices showed a slight advance. Woolly wethers brought 20s 8d to 233 4d, woolly ewes 20s to 235, shorn wethers 17s 6d to 21s 4d, unfinished 16s 3d to 17s, shorn ewes 18s to 22s 2d, unfinished 14s 9d to 17 6d.

Fat lambs: 616 were yarded. The quality was rather mixed, although the presence of export buyers ten ded to maintain prices. The market was easier than a week ago, and prices raDged from 11s 9d to 18s. Store sheep : 1550 were entered, a large proportion being ewes and lambs. Thero was a keen demand, and every pen submitted change d bands. Ewes and iambs, all counted, woolly 12s to 12s 2d, shorn 5s lOd to 13s 2d ; hoggets, woolly 17s to 17s 6d, shorn 14s 7d ; wethers, woolly 18s 7d, shorn 14s 9d ; ewes, shorn 16s 4d.

Pigs: There was a large entry. The sale was dragging, and the market weaker. Baconers brought 37s 6d to 50s, extra heavy 575, equal to 4d per lb ; pdrkers, 28s to 393, equal to 4£d to 4Jd per lb.
