Au old man named William Parker, was sentenced to fivo years’ ponal servitude for perjury in connection with tho attempt to prove an alibi for Jones, recently executed for tbe murder of Constable Long at Auburn. Tho Judge scathingly condemned the prisoner's action as being every bit as bad as tba: of the murderers thomsolves. Parker declared he told the truth, and added : “ Jones was murderod —he was crucified.”
