Per Press Association. Christchurch, last night,

The Canterbury Methodist Synod commenced its pastoral sessions this morning in Durham street Church, tho Bov. J. A. Luxford, president of tho Conference, presiding. The Bev. C. H. Laws, 8.A., was elected secretary. An obituary of tho lato Bov. W, G. Parsouson was read by tho Bev. J. Dukes, and spoken to by several ministers. The Bevs. W. J. Oxbrow, M. A. B. Pratt, and A. J. Seamer were recommondod to tho Conference to be passod in their years of probation.
