SEARCH FOB THE OVALAU

< There are 26 passengers aboard the Ovalau, now due from the Islands, including Lord Barrington. ' Suggestions are made that a steamer or warship be despatched iu search. There is a hop 3 that the Ovalau will be picked up by steamers now en ronto to and from the Islands. It is understood that the steamer Titus will not leave to search before Saturday. Tho steamor Nymbcida ou Sunday passed a quantity of wreckage, spars, and deck fittings five miles off Morna Point. These aro believed to belong to the recently wrecked Oimara. Launceston, Oct. 27. Tho s.s. Wakatipu was on her usual course, and it is supposed struck a sub merged rook or wreckago. Tho steamer is thoroughly seaworthy.
SEVEN VESSELS TO BE SENT OUT IN SEARUH.

There is no news of the Ovalau. Arrangements havo been completed for an exhaustive search. A sharp look out is being kept at all coastal stations. Government have arranged for the despatch of tho pilot steamer Captain Cook to-morrow morning. Sko zig zags to Lord Howe Island.
The naval authorities have ordered the Mil dura and Pylades, now stationed at Brisbane, to start a search to morrow, the former proceeding to Lord Howe Island, and tho Pylades to Norfolk Island. Tho Burns, Philips steamer Ysabel, after coaling at Newcastle, joins in tho search, and tho Pacifique, sailing from Syduoy tomorrow, keeps a sharp look out to Lord Howe Island;
With the Hauroto and Birksgato cn route from the Islands seven vessels will be searching, each taking a different course.
