ROBBERY OF A GUM STORE.

Per Press Association. Auckland, last night. Paterson and Company’s gum store received tho attention of a very daring gang of thieves, tho result being that they got clear away with fivo bags of guua valued at about £lB or £2O. It is believed that somcouo must have been secreted in the promises when they wero locked up. To remove fivo bags of gum must have necessitated tho use of a hand cart at least, and the wonder is that such an operation, conducted at a suspicious hour, did not coma under the notice of the police.
